Options for Those Who Delay Parenthood

Dr. Kowalczyk was recently interviewed for an upcoming documentary on fertility treatment. We will let you know when it comes out!
Following is one of the questions she was asked and her response:
Q. What impact has the trend of delayed motherhood had on your practice?
A. We are seeing many professionals seeking treatment later in their lives. Having children is important to them and they are open to the options – fertility medications to help women ovulate or release eggs, inseminations, IVF and even egg and sperm donation. There is also genetic testing of embryos. Couples who are focused on parenthood are open to these things. It is exciting to work with them.
Please stay tuned to this blog for more Q&A discussion from the upcoming documentary.

January 8, 2013 at 8:13 pmDear Julie,
At 40 years young with a history of tubal ligation(tubes tied)you have 2
options. A tubal reversal or In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with IVF being
the better choice. It is however important to get an evaluation of your
hormones and for your partner to get a Semen Analysis to confirm you are a
candidate. I would suggest seeing a Fertility Specialist for this.
We hope this answer helps. Good luck to you!
